SALVADOR DALI: Liquid Desire


The first comprehensive retrospective of the work of Salvador Dalí ever to be staged in Australia and the sixth exhibition in the NGV's Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series. 

Salvador Dalí exhibited over 200 works in all media including painting, drawing, watercolour, etchings, sculpture, fashion, jewellery, cinema and photography.

3D scale models, technical drawings of plans and elevations and digital CAD 3D models (including fly through animations), were used to share the design intentions with curators, international lenders, the conservation department and others working at the NGV.


The exhibition attracted more than 332,000 visitors overall and almost  15,000 to the NGV's first ever all-night opening. The Dalí Kids space delighted nearly 
14,000 youngsters during the course of the exhibition.
