Johanna B. Kelly is a Melbourne Filmmaker and multi-disciplinary Designer for Feature Films, TV, music videos and commercials working in Melbourne, New York & LA. Credits comprise producing, writing and directing award winning eco foodie documentary The Gateway Bug (84mins, USA) 2018, a feature film on global food security starring TV chef Andrew Zimmern that premiered at Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2017 and was invited to over 20 film festivals globally. Invited as director to Napa Valley Film Festival's 2017 "Artist-In-Residence" program at The Meadowood, where The Gateway Bug was in core competition and undertaking a series of Oscar-award-winner led masterclasses, Johanna also joined in Q&A filmmaker panels across the world.  7 indie feature films as Production Designer, including Like Lambs (86mins, USA) 2017, starring Liam Aiken and Justin Chon, shot on 35mm (Atlanta Film Festival & Boston Int. Film Festival). Most recently Art Directing Chris Hemsworth's Centr fitness app videos, Assistant Art Director on new Netflix show Clickbait starring Adrian Grenier, Betty Gabriel and Zoey Kazan, Netflix's number #1 most streamed series worldwide in September 2021, teaching Production Design at RMIT University, and in development on 2 feature film projects.

Prior to moving to NYC, Johanna was Exhibition Designer for the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia. Designing over 35 exhibitions including record breaking Salvador Dali: Liquid Desire with over 332,000 visitors. Simultaneously earning an MA in Interior Design from RMIT University. Later working with Frieze Art Fair, NYC and the IFPDA Print Fair NYC, as design consultant. Before securing global distribution with Gravitas Ventures and National Geographic, screening worldwide in theatres, TV screens and on Emirates and Hong Kong Airlines, The Gateway Bug world premiered at Santa Barbara Int. Film Festival in 2017. Exposing America’s disconnect with food as climate catastrophe, it follows the dramatic rise and fall of edible insect start-ups, while uncovering daily habits people can change to fix a broken food system, one meal at a time. Screening at over 45 international film festivals across the Americas, Asia, Europe & Australia, it spent over 3 years on the festival circuit, receiving:
